About Thomas W. Parry
Thomas W. Parry brings more than 16 years sales and marketing expertise to the Upstate region. Parry received a Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University and completed post-baccalaureate work at the University of Missouri.
Parry began his career with Pfizer Animal Health, managing a three state territory. He quickly met and surpassed quotas. Realizing his natural capabilities, he accepted a partnership opportunity in Europe to launch a medical device startup. Again, he surpassed sales goals and subsequently negotiated the sale of the company.
Parry then took over European operations of Avid Sports, exceeding sales revenues by 200% and fully developing the European market.
In January 1997, Parry became a Founding Partner of the European Professional Developmental (EPD) Tour. In 2001, the PGA European Tour recognized the EPD Tour as an Official Satellite Tour and, in 2005, the EPD Tour was sold to the PGA European Tour.
In 2000, Parry returned to the United States to join I-many, Inc as a National Account Executive, where he was Top Performing Executive. In 2002, he was awarded the President Club Award, achieved by only two salesmen that year.
Parry joined Sectra NA, Inc. in 2004 as the first North American sales professional and quickly established the company in the orthopedic digital imaging market. In 2007, he was awarded Sales Manager of the Year.
In 2009, Parry recognized the need for a broad professional networking group to link professionals in the many different industries of Upstate South Carolina. Under the inspiration and prodding of hometown friend, Josh Terry, son of former Fountain Inn Parks and Recreation Director, Roger “PD” Terry, Thomas moved forward and founded Linking the Upstate.
Parry currently resides in Fountain Inn with his wife, Silke, and their three boys, Julian and twins Sebastian and Florian. He has been appointed by Fred Payne of the Greenville County Council to serve as a commissioner representing the Canebrake Fire District. He is an Ironman Florida finisher and continues to enjoy riding his bike in his spare time.
